Eep.
I just found out I have to hand in a final draft of what I’ve written of my thesis so far on Monday week. Said thesis, while I’ve been working hard on it, is admittedly a long way off being finished.
See Aimee.
See Aimee panic.
PANIC, AIMEE, PANIC!!!
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to buy myself a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of Scotch.

good work - i think all theses should be written under the influence of scotch, it’d make academia so much more interesting. thanks for the tip

“a long way off being finished.”
It’ll never ever be finished. Get started on making it done. Done is good. I’m pulling for you. And if you need drunken encouragement at 5 am, you know who to call. Trust me: you’ve started. That counts for a lot. So many people screw themselves because they haven’t written a thing. You’ve started already. It’s a cinch now! Keep writing!

Dear Ms. Hussy,
With all due respect, I feel that the way you have handled the case of imminent first draft thesis submission is admirable. Admirable, I say!
Yours sincerely,

PS At Uni, in the fortnight before I was due to hand in my dissertation, I found myself reading The Mysteries of Udolpho.
I got a distinction.
